Foray 48XG is a new (2004) variant of Foray 48B. It contains exactly
the same active ingredients. It does not (yet) contain a genetically
form of B. thuringiensis var kurstaki. The "other"
may have been changed. Ostensibly, Foray 48XG is designed for ground
(as opposed to aerial spraying). The surfactant/wetting agents may have
been changed or concentrations altered. The other significant change is
the label, where the statement "Keep unprotected persons out of the
areas until sprays have dried" has been altered to read " Exposure of
persons can be mitigated by directed spraying. Spray should be allowed
to dry undisturbed." There appears to be no research or justification
backs up this expanded claim of safety. In fact, ground spraying may
people in the spray areas to higher airborne concentations of pesticide
than aerial spraying.
