Foray 48XG
|
Foray 48XG is a new (2004) variant of Foray 48B. It contains exactly
the same active ingredients. It does not (yet) contain a genetically modified
form of B. thuringiensis var kurstaki. The "other" ingredients
may have been changed. Ostensibly, Foray 48XG is designed for ground spraying
(as opposed to aerial spraying). The surfactant/wetting agents may have
been changed or concentrations altered. The other significant change is
the label, where the statement "Keep unprotected persons out of the treated
areas until sprays have dried" has been altered to read " Exposure of unprotected
persons can be mitigated by directed spraying. Spray should be allowed
to dry undisturbed." There appears to be no research or justification that
backs up this expanded claim of safety. In fact, ground spraying may expose
people in the spray areas to higher airborne concentations of pesticide
than aerial spraying.
